Please run for President Al!
Jun 3 2006, 9:49 PM EDT
Al Gore must run for the presidency in 2008. We need a Democrat that has been against the war from the beginning and didn't shy away from saying so. We need a strong Democrat that will be a true liberal and go after the liberal vote. The party has to forget about going after votes on the right -- this will never work Hillary. I'm a strong Hillary Clinton supporter but at this time she can not win. I hate saying that but it's the truth. Al Gore is our option with Obama as Vice President. How much better could it get?

I agree. Hillary cannot win. There are too many on the religious right who would never vote for a female. I think better choices for Gore's VP are Feingold or Edwards. Hillary and Obama are too much a part of the 'good ol boy' network. Yes, the 'good ol boy' network uses Hillary, which makes her think she is one of them, but when push comes to shove, I don't think they'd count her among their numbers. I think the reason the Democrats cannot get their message out is because there are too many Democrats like Hillary who play to the 'good ol boy' network. The Democrat Party needs someone who is seen as an 'outsider' - like Gore is now.

More than anything, I want to see a wonderful, intelligent, strong woman elected PRESIDENT of these UNITED STATES! It's way past time for that to happen. But that female candidate needs to be 'set up' for her best run possible. There are still too many things working against SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON, I believe, to be able to win in 2008 as much as she is deserving of it. So, let's not throw her opportunities 'in the toilet!' Let's back her in such a way that when she runs for PRESIDENT that she actually has a 'hands down' opportunity to walk away the winner in a major victory. That can come if she is VICE PRESIDENT in a team with AL GORE as PRESIDENT. AL GORE will be a strong unifying PRESIDENT and while he attends to all of the things that are most important for him to deal with from GLOBAL WARMING to THE WAR IN IRAQ and the potential of WWIII looming with the instability in IRAN and NORTH KOREA, etc., SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON's primary responsibility to begin with could be and should be the institution of a comprehensive NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN and the re-organization of FEMA and creating a major governmental involvement in the escalation of recovery for the city of NEW ORLEANS and those other areas that were devastated primarily by HURRICANE KATRINA but also RITA, etc..
