Apr 22 2006, 7:00 AM EDT Has anybody out there read a book by James Kunstler called The Long Emergency? It should be required reading for every public official in the country if not the world. Many scenarios in it are far fetched but many have merit and should be addressed before it's too late.

Apr 25 2006, 11:59 AM EDT I haven't read this book...but, I will check it out. I watched something on HBO called Too Hot Not to Handle....Very good...not to mention frightening. Dems need to hop all over this...Republicans have been in the fear game for years...If people don't force the government to do something about Global Warming...the Republicans won't have anyone left to scare. Al Gore is the only Dem I've heard eating this topic alive. It showed how many cities and local governments gave up on the federal gov't...and they went ahead with "greener" living w/out them...How's that for states rights?
