What We are Not

Yes, Democrats stand for something, and one of those things is that we are proud that we are decidedly NOT Republicans.

Let's talk that, shall we?

Snake Handlers. Bible Thumpers. Theocons.

Good Ol. PrivilegeJune 23, 2006 | A photograph of a 2002 golf trip to St. Andrews in Scotland shows, from left in the front row, the lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed, David H. Safavian and Representative Bob Ney. A 373-page Congressional report focuses on Ney, revealing potential legal trouble for the Ohio Republican who has become ensnared in a wide-ranging criminal probe of influence peddling. The report also highlights the work of former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed on behalf of Indian gambling interests.

Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill "Falawful" O'Reilly, Sean Hannity ... excellent reverse role models.

Secrets. Shhhh.

I'd never thought of it that way. I was a Democrat activist prior to reading this. Now I'm switching parties and will work hard to help defeat these criminals!

First off, I am neither Republican or Democrat. I vote for who will do the best job. "Jacksonian Democracy" led this country into a depression during the next Presidency of Martin van Buren. Secondly how is this topic of slavery and Jackson even relevent to today's politics? Next off, the Republican party and the Democratic have each had there fair share of controversy. The Republicans are not all "perfect christians" and democrats are not all weed smoking hippies. Democrats are known for the representing "The People" because the Republicans considered it ok to not allow poor Europeans like Germans, Polish, Italians, and the Irish into our country, where the Democrats gave them food and a little bit of money in there pockets right off the boat. Democrats in the South did support slavery, yet not every state in the union was Republican either, and just because you belong into a party does not mean you go with every belief of the party. Democrats also supported women's rights, then again just happened to be on the wrong end of "The Trail of Tears". The Rebuplicans had many fantastic men as President, George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt, and more. But not every Republican is as of honorable quality as some Republican suggest they are, namely Richard "Tricky Dick" Nixon, and also Teddy Roosevelt shared many progressive and democratic ideals while still hating the 'Crats, and later ran by himself with his Progressive Party, "The Bull Moose Campaign". Crats take moretaxes to have more progams for the poor and funding. It was also the Democrats who got us out of the depression and TWO world wars, where Republicans won the Cold War, and stabilized us after Watergate. The Democrats also started integrated schools, but the Republicans took us out of the Carter deression, but Carter also was the first to suggest alternative fuels, and was a Crat also. Choose the voteon issues and not parties/

Andrew Jackson may have been referring to the weight of his voice when he took office as his ideas shifted the status quo of many people throughout this country. Today, people will value which ever party is more worthy. If people vote for a canidate who is courageous enough to stand up for the rights of all people, we will see an unbelievable series of events unfolding before our humble little eyes!

WE ARE NOT ANDREW JACKSON BUT WE CAN REPRESENT A MAJORITY!
Andrew Jackson said "one man with courage makes a majority." What did he mean by this?
Andrew Jackson served as the seventh president of the United States from 1829 to 1837. His election to the presidency shifted the balance of power from wealthy, East Coast merchants to farmers and small-business owners in the West. Jackson’s political policies, which courted the general public rather than the wealthy, later became known as Jacksonian Democracy.
