The Nation is the flagship for the Radical left and those who call themselves "Progressives". The only reason they dislike Hillary is because she is married to Bill, who had the audacity to buck the Special Interest Labor Lobby. Believe it or not, what is good for Labor is not always good for the country. The Dem. Party will NEVER come togeather until it stops eating it's own.
These "patriots" are now trying to repeat another Viet Nam fiasco in Iraq. We left more than three million South Vietnamese to fend for themselves after we withdrew all aid to them. Now these same "patriots" are extolling the "virtues" of repeating the same fiasco in Iraq. True, the invasion was illegal, true this Administration lied to us, and true if Bush wanted to find the biggest WMD, all he had to do was to look in the mirror. However, thanks to this Administration and the hypocrits who mostly all supported him, until it became politically l it became politically correct to oppose him,.We are now in a much more serious situation in Iraq than the the simplistic writers at "The Nation" would have us believe. We now have a situation where there are more terorist Al Qaeda and Hezbullah in Iraq than there are Talliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. The flagship of the Radical Left is ignoring the fact that the US is now in the position of having virtually all of it's oil supply from the Mid-East cut off. A situation that would make the depression of the twenties appear as a walk in the park. The oil producing countries are no military match against Syria, Iran, it's Hezbullah. and Al Kaeda. To cut and run now will have consequences way beyond the Viet Nam fiasco. Unless we are willing to survive and become the largest third world country in the world, we would have to re-invade a well dug in and supplied Hezbullah.Even Israel, the best military machine in the area, found that this was a very tall order. Just wait until the next 9/11. The politically correct gang will then take a 180. |
