Sen. Clinton voted to authorize giving President Bush authority to use force in Iraq and has since taken a pragmatic view that troops should stay until significant progress toward Iraqi self-sufficiency is achieved, up to a point. She supports the Senate Democratic foreign policy strategy "Real Security, Protecting America and Restoring Our Position of Leadership in the World" which is a deadline of sorts, giving Iraq until 2006 to make a "significant transition."
