A Pro-Life, Black Woman who is a Christian would be the perfect choice, but she would fail to gain support because deep down the Democrats of today are only pretenders and can't support any diversity.

Bisexual and strongly in favor of educating preschool children about the contributions that bisexuals have made to the world.
Owns a puppy and is a member of the society for prevention of cruelty to puppies. Believes that abortion is a god given right for women to choose, but does not believe in any god other than the democratic party. Believes that under no circumstances should the United States defend itself. The US should humbly beseach the United Nations for any redress to any invasion or terrorism. My democratic candidate would actively suppress disent and make it illegal to believe anything not promoted in the official party platform. It would also insist upon doubling the taxes on the rich and using the proceeds to benefit, well go ahead and guess who... It would want free everything. It would disband the US military, cause its not nice for US to defend ourselves. |

A moderate or even a Conservative, race is not important, but I am not sure if it's time for a female to run. He should be a religious man, but should have his own beliefs about abortion, and same sex marriages, and not let these become an issue. He should be pro-worker, not be bought by big business. A family man, Charismatic, good at debates, and honest. Not nessarily a Senator, Congressman, or Governor, just know how to negoitiate without giving in to pressure.

If the Democratic party doesn't purge itself of the so called "liberal experts" who have led it astray, they will NEVER see the White House again nor will they assume control of either the House or the Senate. I don't know how many lost elections it takes to make these idiots see that these so called "experts" have totally lost touch with the "average American citizen" and what they want and expect from their President and Government. Right now, the Republicans are about as bad as they can be and have made a genuine "mess" of the Country but as long as the Demos put forth candidates such as Hillary and Kerry, you can kiss the election good bye again. COUNT ON IT AND WATCH IT! One party dominance in America is dangerous but so is the direction of the present powers that be in the Democratic party and middle of the road America knows it and will reject them again if they don't get smarter.

I am definitely for a woman in office, but I do have one concern. These days, in other countries...especially Islamic countries, women are looked down upon. It seems to me that leaders from certain militant countries might see a woman as President as an opportunity to strike harder. A 'get 'em while they're down' type of thing. If a woman were to be President right now, it seems as if we would be opening ourselves to more attacks.

The ideal image of what a Democratic presidential candidate should be is this: White Male, aged 40-55, a Governor(!!) preferrably from a Southern or swing state (Ohio is ideal). The guy should be good-looking and charismatic, know how to deliver a speech, religious enough to inspire hope, but not so religious as to narrow the spectrum of people he inspires hope in.
That's who wins. What _policies_ do I want to see out of this person? Well, personally, I want a social libertarian and an economic globalizer. Someone who understands we're all in this world together, even if we live our lives differently. Do I have the slightest clue who I want the nominee to be? No. :( -Dave |

The issue is balancing democratic ideals and what is best for the country with electability. Will gun-toting, homophobic Americans vote for Hillary Clinton? I don't think so. Most Americans, in fact, do not know what is good for them. Perhaps John Edwards is more "electable" in that sense, but is he the best man for the job? Kerry is too blah to win the dynamic personality vote. Al Gore is the same along that lines, although he has spiced it up a bit while out of office. In a debate, though, McCaine kicks all their asses. What do we do then? Sadly, it looks like the best we can hope for is McCaine being a Democrat in sheeps clothing, as I can't imagine him not winning if he runs. If he doesn't, Pataki, Condi, all of them, can beat whatever we put up there. But to sound more upbeat, I'll say we have a chance if Hillary runs and actually gets women out in unheard of droves to vote, but then they can counter with Condi. Of course the 9-11/Iraq mess could hurt her. So, its a hail marry desperation bomb, but it has to be Hilliary in '08 if we're going to have any chance. Take the risk and cross our fingers. Maybe the thought of having the popular Bill Clinton in the White House for any reason will be enough to push it over the edge.

My ideal president will work for the people, not for their own agenda. Male or female is not an issue. They need to be able to have some knowledge as how to fix the mess in Iraq, get insurance for every American, STOP the talk of Americans not wanting the jobs Illegals are taking. I do not know of one American that would'nt take those jobs if the Employers would pay a decent wage. Increase the wages to where a person is doing more than just surviving. Take away all freebies that Congress and The House receives. Realize that it is the American People that pay their wages and it should be earned. Stop the Illegal Immegrants from crossing over, the middle class has borne the brunt of everything. Get in touch with those that do'nt pay a big contribution. We are broke from low wages , high gas prices and paying taxes so the rich can get richer. Remember we out number them! Our vote will get you in!! When we speak, listen. We are not dumb. We do have a better grasp on issues than most of the politicians do. We live those issues. Find that canidate and all Americans can prosper

What did G.W. do to satisfy the the Conservatives since last election? nothing! He got elected and started a war, which it doesn't look good for our side. He didn't stop abortion! He let the states deal with Gay Marriage, Congress wouldn't let him just as a Republican Congress will do if we let the Republicans in the House stay there. And what did George do to Social Security, with Congress' help? If we let the Republicans keep controlling our country, We'll become ruled by a king, nobles, and we'll become their slaves.

Yes! A Unified, Strong voice with a clear message. That's it in a nutshell. I don't think Hillary could win against any Republican, but one day maybe. Edwards and Obama have smarts and charisma.

Man or woman, shrug, either can be equally honest or dishonest. Major issues need resolution. Our education doesn't rank in the top 25 industrial nations. Neither does our healthcare, our environmental policies, or our voting percentages. The last vote for American Idol had many millions more votes than the last presidential election. Other than being the only international military power what exactly are we number one in? What exactly are we supposed to have pride in as a nation?
